Potter's cottage is a tastefully decorated and fun “Key West” style ground level, and comfortable 1 Bed / 1 Bath cottage with all the modern conveniences that sleeps 2 with a few exceptions for additional guests . Tile floors throughout, with a vaulted open concept Kitchen and Main Room keep the cottage light and bright. Enjoy your large screened enclosed outdoor lanai and lounge area complete with vaulted ceiling, bar, fans, and seating areas. Want to get some sun? Just step outside to your very own wrap around deck providing even more room for sunning, relaxing, or cooking (on the grill) while you enjoy the peaceful, private, and tropical surroundings.
The main room boasts a comfortable sofa, separate love seat, an eat-in dining area, fully equipped new and open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a huge 50” flatscreen TV, 2 ceiling fans, and large glass sliding doors that open onto your private screen enclosed lanai. The updated Master Bedroom includes a King Size Bed with a relaxing seating / reading area, 22' flat screen TV, large closet, and glass sliding doors that open onto the deck. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and plenty of storage for towels and necessities. A laundry area is located in the back of the home, and high speed internet access is included for those who would like a working vacation. Private parking is included and just steps from your private entry gate.

We love Sanibel
We have lost count of how many times we have stayed at Chip’s places, but needless to say, there have been many! We always try to get 3 weeks or more per year to get our Sanibel fix. We just stayed for 2 weeks and are just as satisfied with our accommodations and experience as we were our first stay with Chip. We’ve introduced our family and kids and all have loved the authentic, enjoyable Sanibel Island experience! You can not beat the location. 200 steps to the gulf for excellent shelling, amazing fishing; kayaking on the bay just steps behind the cottages; restaurants and general store nearby, peaceful neighborhoods for dog walking, safe bike riding; it’s an ideal location for a complete family vacation. Chip is always reliable and responsive, and maintains his rentals with pride and is always rotating fresh decor and personal touch to his properties, so every time we come my wife always looks forward to the changes and personal touches Chip puts in. It’s never a cliche for us to say “we’ll be back”. Sanibel is a special place for us, and the fantastic history and experiences we have had, combined with the value we find with Chip, allows us to be able to spend as much time as we have been able to, down there. Slice of Heaven in Sanibel!
My husband and I weren't looking for much... a quaint, quiet, semi-private, beautiful beach house, somewhere to go to forget about everything for awhile... yet still close to wonderful restaurants, recreational opportunities, and island boutiques. Of course, we wanted all these options for an affordable price! Sound impossible? Well, we found it all in POTTER'S COTTAGE. This was our 4th stay in 2 years and each time we visit, it feels like our second home. Chip and Samantha are incredible hosts, always making sure that we have all we need, going over and beyond with hospitality and generosity. The cottage was always immaculate, tastefully decorated, and ready for us to "move in". We love visiting the bird sanctuary at Jerry's, dining at the Island Cow, and our morning walks & shelling expeditions on the beach. Do as much or as little as you want - it truly is the perfect vacation. I highly recommend this property for anyone who wants a week of relaxation. This place is IT... a little slice of HEAVEN in SANIBEL.

Shell-hunters-Hide-away
It is the most wonderful place with a secluded, authentic, tropical, Florida theme and a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. With such a central location, you can get to everything in no time and with "no car". You can walk the beach, ride your bike and also get groceries or eat out for all three meals a day within a block from your door. We have become such good friends with the owner Chip, and his wife that it always feels like "coming home again" everytime we visit. The home is fully equiped and you don't have to think about bringing a thing. Since my husband and I are avid "shellers" we are up before the sun and out at the beach, located just accross the street at the end of our driveway. This is truly a story- book cottage in a one-of-a-kind natural location where we have made lasting memories and friendships, and that we just can't wait to get back to again and again...but don't tell anyone about it!
PERFECT ROMANTIC HIDEAWAY
This place was perfect. We stayed there for 7 days on our honeymoon and were across the street from an amazing restaurant called the Mad Hatter and the best sunsets on Sanibel Island. You can travel between Sanibel and Captiva easily as you are right between the two islands. Place is clean, perfect size for two possibly a couple and children. It truly is your own private hideaway. We just got back and have already decided to book same time next year. Chip and his wife are great. They brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding and had wonderful suggestions that were all spot on!!! Amazing dinners, great time! IT WAS PERFECT!!!! Very private. You are close to everything. Convenient breakfast spot right next to you! Great beach for swimming and shelling right across the beach!
Great location
Booking direct with the owner (Chip)is great. Chip makes everything so easy. Arrived at the cottage, or he said we did.. We saw nothing...Total tropical vegetation with a wooden doorway into it. Walking into the property, it opens up to a wonderful peaceful deck, leading into a lanai, before going into the main cottage. It's a well equipped place, very open floor plan, so everything feels comfortable. Comfortable king bed. There is a very large grassy area out front which was perfect frisbee/walking area for our 2 mini Aussies. Just across the main road (2min walk) is a great pet friendly beach, where one will encounter many pet owners! We brought our bicycles and rode 3-7 miles to breakfast most mornings, either to Captiva or Sanibel. Chip and Samantha are gracious owners, and are just a text away if any questions or concerns arise. Thanks Chip, Samantha-and especially Murphy, their elder lab, for making our 2 weeks memorable!
