This is a ground level property located on a tropical “sea shell” lane in the popular village area where Sanibel & Captiva meet. Step back in time in this 1940 authentic cottage. All located in a village setting just before the bridge over to Captiva. We’re directly across the street from what many believe is the best shelling beach on Sanibel. We have beautiful sunsets and abundant wildlife, including Dolphins in the bay that you can watch feed each morning and evening. We are truly the Best vacation value on Sanibel!

Home amenities include Central Heat & Air, Large Screened Lanai overlooking the Bay, 3 TV's (including big screen in the Great Room), DVD player, high-speed Wireless Internet Access, Well equipped Kitchen, Master Bedroom with King sized Bed opening to screened Lanai overlooking Bay, Guest Bedroom with King sized bed. We also have beach chairs, a washer/dryer, fresh linens and towels. Private parking is literally just a few steps from your door.
On-site amenities include use of 2 kayaks, private hot water outdoor shower, a boat dock, a fire pit and charcoal grills, and lots of tropical vegetation including dozens of palm trees on the property. We also have an abundance of wildlife, including Dolphins, Herons, Egrets, Spoon Bill’s and Seagulls. We’re less than a minute’s walk away from some of Sanibel’s best shelling beaches, as well as great restaurants, the marina, and a general store.
Pet Friendly Policy: We welcome up to 2 dogs for an extra $150/each, but unfortunately cannot accept the following: Pit Bull, Chow Chow, Akita, Husky, Doberman, Wolf Hybrid, Presa Canaroso, Rottweiler, and Staffordshire Terriers.

Perfect Getaway
Harbor House has been a perfect getaway in these stressful times. The cottage had everything we needed and plenty of space. The best part was the stunning view outside our living room and main bedroom. Each had large sliding doors that looks out on a large back deck leading to a beautifully landscaped area with a view of palm trees and bay waters. The beach is a very short walk from the cottage and is an excellent location for picking up shells and enjoying the sandy shore. We found the beach very convenient and not crowded at all. We took a short walk over the Sanibel-Captiva bridge, which is also close to the cottage. Another convenience was the grocery store and the restaurant that was a short walk from the cottage. There's plenty to do on Sanibel, but it's wonderful to have conveniences right there so if you don't want to get out in your car, you don't have to. We had some very heavy rain for part of our stay, but the cottage was very comfortable, and spacious so being inside all day was not a problem, Chip was very accommodating and helpful. It was good to have a washer and dryer at our disposal when we needed it. I felt that staying here was a very good value. We would definitely like to return to Harbor House.

We had a great time at your cozy beautiful cottage with a great view! Beautiful landscape all around in a nice secluded area but close to beach, a general store & very good restaurants! The owner was super nice! We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our vacation! Will definitely book again next year & recommend highly to family & friends!
Favorite place
You know you made the right location choice the minute you see the entrance to the property. A beautiful pergola/gate welcomes you to the new updated botanical courtyard, complete with its own outdoor shower. The wooden walkway leads you past beautiful plants, to the entrance, a colorful decorated nautical theme. The first step into the residence, provides the spectacular view of the bay and its abundance of wildlife through multiple glass patio doors with the open floorplan. The screened in lanai provided a place to enjoy meals, while watching the pelicans and occasional dolphin passing by. This is a 1940's home, with many of the original attributes which give it the old Florida feel. The property has been well maintained, and even with original rooms , we found the property very clean and ready for our arrival. We were just steps from our own private dock which we used to launch the furnished kayaks, and on the other side, its a very short walk to the beach. The property even had a beach wagon to pull all our beach gear, instead of carrying it. The main bathroom has nice walk-in shower, the other a tub/shower combo. The kitchen is small, with some original cabinets remaining, but is clean, and well equipped for any meal prep. Includes a blender for frozen drinks after a day at the beach. We find the best of both worlds here, the best shelling beach on Sanibel and then a quick walk back to our own private place to enjoy the tropical view.

Perfect
Harbour House met and exceeded all of our many fantasies of a vacation in Sanibel. The home is spacious, comfortable, fully equipped, and caringly decorated. From the sliding glass doors, the views reveal themselves: pelicans, ibis, an occasional dolphin, palm trees, mangroves, and clear fresh water rising and falling with the tides. If all this is not enough, and it is, right across the road is a perfect Gulf of Mexico beach with shells galore, diving pelicans, and very few people. This was our first trip to Sanibel but we have already reserved for next year with Chip, a most excellent host.
What a wonderful place!!
Just got back from Sanibel and the Harbour House. The undisturbed area is the Florida I remember from my youth. Lots of recent upgrades and everything you need to make your vacation perfect. This will be our 3rd trip to Sanibel and we always stay at one of Chip's homes. You and your family will make lifetime memories.
Awesome time
Property was amazing. Short walk to the beach and restaurants,beautiful views, and perfect location. Chip was very helpful and an island celebrity. We cannot wait to go back.
Our favorite spot
We like to bring our boat so we rented the Harbour House because it's on the water and includes a boat dock right out front and it was just perfect. Comfortable and clean. Our favorite was the big screen enclosed lanai that looked out over the water. Beautiful views and we loved having the marina right around the corner for bait & tackle. The manager Chip made sure we were comfortable and recommended all the good placed to eat on the island. Traders and The Madhatter were our favorites. A great house and a great beach and a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
A tropical paradise!!
Had a great relaxing vacation. First, the house is in an awesome location. Right on the bay with gardens and tropical surroundings Chip, the manager has put in since the pictures. I saw Dolphins and all kinds of sea birds. The house itself was very clean, comfortable and furnished with everything you'd need including beach towels! The beach is about a 2 or 3 minute walk and we did lots of shelling and beach combing. Sunsets were beautiful. Planning to stay there again next August! Thank you.
Perfect Location
The Harbour house is great and ideally situated steps form the beacj=h and with the bay in your back yard. This is the third time we have stayed at this location. Everything is in the home especially if you like to cook....a very well equipped kitchen. We ahd 1 dog and 3 adult children, but we did not feel cramped. Chip the manager is great. and will do everything possible to make the stay great. We will be back next year!
